Your diesel engine releases exhaust but it shouldn’t become a smokestack. If you see a ton of black exhaust flowing out of the tailpipe, you have an imbalance of air and fuel in the combustion chamber that is fuel-rich. You might also have a clogged air filter.
Oxidized Oil
Finally, if your diesel engine has been sitting around for a while without being run, the oil has likely oxidized. If you drive your diesel automobile with oxidized oil, you will seriously damage the engine. It’s important to change the oil before you drive the automobile if it hasn’t been driven in a few months.
